Danilo Rossi

A student of some of the most important viola and chamber music masters, Danilo Rossi graduated at the age of 19 with top honors and distinction. However, he had already distinguished himself at the age of 16 by winning his first International Competition. Shortly after graduating, he passed the competition for Principal Viola Soloist of the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, becoming the youngest instrumentalist in the history of the Milanese Theater to hold that role. From that moment on, Danilo Rossi’s career has been marked by a series of encounters, concerts, festivals, and recitals that have taken him around the world, performing in the most important theaters and concert halls. Immersed in music like few others, Danilo Rossi has explored numerous musical genres, even the most distant from each other. Thus, numerous collaborations with great artists in the jazz and pop fields have made Danilo Rossi a unique example of how it is possible to live music in its entirety, without any barriers. Danilo Rossi experiences music in its entirety. Always open to the most diverse experiences, he has had numerous encounters with actors, writers, and poets that have led him to perform in the most diverse environments: from prisons to the forests of Trentino, from the swamps of Sri Lanka to the Off Theaters of the suburbs. Thanks to the great masters with whom he studied and the important artistic encounters in his over thirty-year career, Danilo Rossi has been able to acquire musical and human certainties, enabling many of his students to achieve extraordinary results.
