Livorno Music Festival

The 15^th edition of the Livorno Music Festival and Summer Academy, organized by the Amici della Musica Association of Livorno with the support and collaboration of 22 partners, will take place from August 15 to September 7, 2025, across 14 evocative locations. These include some of Livorno’s most culturally significant venues, as well as events in Suvereto, Pontedera, and for the first time on the islands of Elba and Capraia. The festival aims to promote the region by boosting cultural tourism, encouraging public access to historical and scenic sites, and contributing to the regeneration of cultural and environmental heritage. It does this by blending live performance with the artistic and natural surroundings, offering the audience an immersive experience where music fuses with history and landscape.
More than 200 artists will participate, including 60 internationally renowned performers, over 100 young talents from Italy and abroad representing over 30 countries, and a guest orchestra of 50 musicians.

The program features 26 concerts, most of which are original productions created specifically for the event. As always, it includes a strong focus on chamber music – central to the festival’s ethos of musical sharing – and spans the classical repertoire across all eras, highlighting iconic pieces and composers who have defined music history. The lineup also embraces opera, live film music, folk, contemporary, tango, Italian singer-songwriters, and innovative programs that blend genres such as jazz, pop, and rock, along with multidisciplinary events. This year’s edition also pays tribute to major anniversaries, celebrating figures such as Giovanni Fattori, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Maurice Ravel, Dmitri Shostakovich, Luigi Dallapiccola, Luciano Berio, Béla Bartók, Erik Satie, and Georges Bizet.
All these features make the festival a contender at the highest international levels.
