Ingrid Fliter is recognized as one of the most authoritative
interpreters of Chopin. Her recordings have received top ratings:
The Telegraph selected her Chopin Preludes as CD of the Month,
Gramophone included them in the top 10 most recommended
albums of recent years, Classic FM gave Editor’s Choice to her
complete Chopin Waltzes recorded for EMI. With Linn Records she
has recorded Schumann and Mendelssohn concertos, Chopin
concertos with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, 24 Preludes and
Nocturnes and Mazurkas by the titular composer, often being chosen
as CD of the Month by Gramophone.
She won first prize at the Cantù Competition in 1994 and second
prize at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2000. The artist
received the Gilmore Artist Award in 2006, a U.S. quadrennial prize
awarded to only a few pianists worldwide. Among the musical
figures who have influenced her artistic formation are Vitaly
Margulis, Carlo Bruno, Franco Scala, and Boris Petrushansky. Ingrid
Fliter now divides her artistic activity between Europe and the USA,
where she is a guest of orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra,
Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco
Symphony, Toronto Symphony, London Symphony, Royal Scottish
National Orchestra, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, Hungarian
National Orchestra, collaborating with conductors including Vladimir
Ashkenazy, Andrey Boreyko, Trevor Pinnock, Carlo Rizzi, Philippe
Entremont, Edo de Waart, Charles Dutoit, Gábor Takács, Vasily
Petrenko, R. Fruhbeck de Burgos, Zoltán Kocsis. In recital she has
performed in the world’s most celebrated concert halls such as the
Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, La Verdi Hall in Milan, Cologne
Philharmonic, Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Salzburg
Festspielhaus, Carnegie Hall, NHK Hall.
She has been a professor at the Imola International Academy
“Incontri col Maestro” since 2015.

The course will focus on the study and improvement of the great concert repertoire.

Admission to the course will take place after selection. To participate, candidates must submit their application to the Festival Secretariat at infolivornomusicfestival@gmail.com by 31 May 2026, with no payment required at this stage, attaching the following documents:
1) A short video clip, single grip, duration 5/10 minutes, good audio quality, performing a piece at free choice, via YouTube link, Google Drive, Dropbox.
2) The following form (click to download) for the application and the processing of personal data, completed and signed.

The results of the selection will be communicated via email by June 5, 2026.

No later than June 10, 2026, admitted candidates must confirm their participation by filling the online registration form complete with the payment of the registration and attendance fees.

The timetable and the operation of the course will be defined by the professor according to the composition of the class.

The organization reserves the right to make some scholarships available to the most deserving students, to be assigned at the end of the course and at the discretion of the teachers.
