PAVEL BERMAN
Pavel Berman was born in Moscow in 1970. He studied in the Central School of Music and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Igor Bezrodniy and then went to the Juilliard School in New York to study with Dorothy DeLay and later with Isaac Stern. Mr. Berman attracted international attention when he won the Second Prize int the 1987 Paganini Competition at the age of 17 and received First Prize and the Gold Medal at the 1990 Indianapolis International Violin Competition. He has performed as a soloist and/or conductor with orchestras such as the Moscow Virtuosi, Orchestra RAI di Torino, Orchestra di Santa Cecilia, Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, Berliner Symphoniker, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Philharmonic Orchestra and others. He has performed in prestigious halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Herkulessaal in Munich, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Bunkakaikan in Tokyo, Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In 1998, Mr. Berman founded the Kaunas Chamber Orchestra in Lithuania and was its artistic director until 2005. Pavel Berman has collaborated with musicians such as Lazar Berman, András Schiff, Bruno Canino, Alexander Rudin, Eliahu Inbal, Daniel Oren, Shlomo Mintz, Alban Gerhardt, Donald Weilerstein. Additionally, he has recorded for Koch International, Audiofon, Discover, Phoenix Classics, Dynamic. He currently gives masterclasses in numerous academies and is regularly invited to participate in the juries of the Paganini International Competition, the George Enescu International Competition, the Isang Yun Competition, Classical Strings and many others. In 2021, Mr. Berman became the co-founder and artistic director for the Monteverdi Circle Online Centre for the Performing Arts. Pavel Berman is currently a professor in Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, and in Accademia Perosi in Biella, Italy. Among his former students are such artists as the recent winner of Paganini competition Giuseppe Gibboni, the concertmaster of La Scala orchestra Laura Marzadori, the winner of ICMA 2022 prize Gennaro Cardaropoli and many other violinists who have taken leading positions in orchestras. He plays an Antonio Stradivari violin, Cremona 1702 ‘ex David Oistrakh’, kindly lent to him by the Fondazione Pro Canale in Milan.

EVA BINDERE
The award-winning Latvian violinist Eva Bindere comes from a well-known family of musicians. During her musical studies in Riga, she was awarded a scholarship to study in Dallas with Eduard Schmieder and later on in City of Basel Music Academy in Switzerland where she studied with Raphael Oleg, as well as with Hatto Beyerle and Valther Levin in their renowned chamber music course. In 1997, when Gidon Kremer founded Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra, Ms Bindere became its first concertmaster and led the orchestra for fifteen years. With Kremerata, she traveled around the world, regularly performing as a soloist and duo partner with Gidon Kremer. Disc “After Mozart” where Ms Bindere is also a soloist received a Grammy award. She also performed in string quartet “Euphonia” together with her Kremerata colleagues. Ms Bindere has been the guest leader of Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Sudwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, Sinfonietta Basel. She has also led Kammerorchester Basel, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Camerata Bern and Moscow Soloists in collaboration projects. Ms Bindere has special affinity for chamber music making and has performed in partnership with Pierre Amoyal, Renaud Capucon, Hagen Quartet, Boris Garlitsky, Antoine Tamestit, Maxim Rysanov, Gerard Causse, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Yo Yo Ma, Gautier Capucon, Mario Brunello, Boris Pergamenshikov, Katia Skanavi, Leif Ove Andsnes, Martin Stadtfeld, Alexander Melnikov and Martin Helmchen. One of the most important aspects of Ms Bindere’s current activity is performing with fellow Latvian musicians – the first cello of the London Philharmonic Orchestra Kristina Blaumane and the brilliant pianist Reinis Zarins. It has grown into an established ensemble – piano trio Palladio, already residing in the recently opened Cesis concert hall in Latvia with their own concert series and working closely with the world famous Latvian composer Peteris Vasks. This season’s highlights are the upcoming concert in London Wigmore Hall and L. van Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. Since 2008, Ms Bindere is an associated professor and a beloved lecturer in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She also juries international competitions and gives regular masterclasses in Collegium Musicum Schloss Pommersfelden and Järvi String Academy. In 2017, a collaboration with Accademia Perosi in Biella, Italy, began, and Ms Bindere started giving a chamber orchestra/ensemble playing course as an invited professor there. In March 2017 Ms Bindere was honoured with the Latvian Grand Music Award, the highest state recognition in the field of music. This year (2018) Ms Bindere has been elected as a full-time violin professor in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music.
